By the standards of the other all-inclusive luxury lines, Crystal Serenity is a big ship. But its high space-to-passenger ratio means that lounges and restaurants are spacious and plentiful, and there's room to offer a wide range of activities on any given sea day.

Northern Lights are always proud to work with the ever-insightful AD Associates. Our professional venture with the London-based collective of creatives on the immense Crystal Symphony cruise ship was the catalyst to our involvement with the marine industry, thus giving us access to this incredible project.
The refurbishment of Crystal Serenity took place in a four-week drydocking at the Lloyd Werft yard in Bremerhaven, Germany, following the award-winning refurbishment of Crystal Serenity's sister ship, Crystal Symphony, in 2017. Northern Lights were tasked with creating bespoke lighting for the luxurious Seabreeze Penthouse. The room offers a soothing palette of classic ocean hues, and a private teak verandah provides an environment of peaceful tranquillity. Whilst realising AD Associates' designs, our designers considered the theme of the penthouse and used the design inspirations to create stunning glass-based installations.
Sitting flush to the wall is a beautifully handcrafted 3D glass installation comprising 25 tricoloured glass 'shells' that form an eye-catching pattern that stretches to the length of the sofa below. The elegantly arranged fitting contains a mixture of teal, petrol blue and frosted glass threaded to a polished stainless steel baseboard. Each glass disc is complete with a polished stainless steel cap that elevates the lighting through reflection.
Elsewhere, our brushed brass wall sconces sit on either side of the bed. The Art Deco fixtures comprise an upright brass rod that pairs exquisitely with a hand-blown teal glass tube. The tube is held in place by matching spun brass pans. The fittings pay homage to the opulent palette applied to the penthouse, as well as the grandeur displayed throughout the entire ship.
