COYA Riyadh

The team at Northern Lights were once again enticed by the opportunity to work with Sagrada on realising their brief for this stunning location. COYA Riyadh became our sixth partnership with David D'Almada's innovative team and one that has utilised some of our most revered finishing techniques.

Our iconic Aurelia chandeliers appear as a focal mainstay to complement the rustic textures of the restaurant. The Aurelia range is a signature feature of COYA restaurants, striking in their finish and location. Utilised over private dining areas, the rich gold distressed patina of the Aurelia complements the lush jewel colours and striking furniture used within the scheme.

Solid brass tube bespoke wall lights evoking pipe instruments adorn the textured walls throughout the venue, evoking a fiery bidirectional aura that mimics the sight of an open flame. These are intricately soldered by our skilled fabricators and finished with a tarnished antique patina using bronzing acids.

A bespoke multi-level laser-cut tarnished brass pendant brings a beautifully reflected glow to the DJ booth, which has been intelligently adorned with traditional Inca carvings and matching brass elements. The intricately designed statement fixture benefits from a reflective interior that emits a warming light source from its three lamps. Suspended by chains, the opulent fixtures provide a stunning focal point amongst a delicately applied composition of intelligent and sympathetic interior design. This organic wave pendant has been used in various designs in several COYA schemes as the form with its waves and undulating lines work well with the rich interiors and draping foliage.

Several newly introduced desk lamps have been designed and manufactured for this venue, showcasing something genuinely unique to Riyadh's opening. The integrated fittings have been designed to sit flush to various surfaces and bring a more personable source of lighting to certain restaurant areas, evoking a homely feel that encourages intimate gatherings between parties. One variety of the lamp utilises a lightened version of our old English brass finish to form a gorgeously casted base and stem, complete with a red soft tailored shade that has been decorated with gold silk tassels. Other variations include the same finish and are complete with shades that utilise patterned fabrics in emerald green and cream colour finishes. 

In the outdoor banqueting area, our Aurelia pendants bring added glamour to the area by complementing the pastoral aesthetic with a tarnished patina that has been delicately hand-applied by our skilled artisans. To complement the pendants, we have introduced numerous tower lights that have been carefully postured within the foliage beds surrounding the terrace. The perforated bronze towers have been laser-cut to show glimmers of an internal acrylic cylinder that omits a vibrant ambience.
