Birmingham has always been a cornerstone in the development of multicultural cuisine on British soil. Few cities can claim such a rich history in the food products that transformed how the nation ate and became part of our cultural history.

Northern Lights have already experienced the joys of working with Aktar Islam once before; our luxury bespoke lighting that adorns the ceilings of Opheem received widespread acclaim and even appeared on Masterchef: The Professionals. This venture proved to be just as exhilarating from a design and manufacturing point of view as the previous project was. The deluxe interior is decorated in rich autumnal hues and beautifully rich wooden elements to provide diners with a seasonal aesthetic that pairs so well with prime beef and Malbec.

Our bar pass installation comprises an intricately constructed network of brushed brass arms, each complete with matt opal blocks that provide a delicately balanced lighting source. The geometric fixture was designed with its immediate surroundings in mind. Behind the bar sits a well-configured set of brass bar shelving, complemented perfectly by the sizeable fixture above. The overall design could be construed as 'branches' that pay homage to the autumnal theme on display throughout the restaurant.

Elsewhere, our show-stopping cluster installation of handblown Tala Voronoi II light bulbs creates an artistic centrepiece that can be seen from every corner of the restaurant. The eye-catching assemblage varies in drop length and provides ample lighting to both the diners and the magnificently arched wine display that shrouds the entrance to the restaurant. The light peers through the glass, making itself visible on either side. The dimmed filaments allow those in attendance to look directly at the installation so that it can be appreciated for its beauty.
