Opened in May 2015 Hilton at The Ageas Bowl is truly a landmark project. Never before has a hotel been so integrated into a cricket ground. It is so combined that many of its guest rooms double as hospitality boxes on match days. It also features the first restaurant bearing the nickname of cricketing legend Sir Ian’ Beefy’ Botham, the first Hilton ‘Eforea’ spa and the largest ballroom in the region, capable of holding up to 700 people.
Northern Lights worked closely with the interior designers to develop a diverse range of bespoke hospitality lighting required for the entire hotel. As a UK lighting manufacturer, Northern Lights were able to manufacture the bespoke lighting for the lobby, restaurant and sports bar as well as the conference room, spa and 174 guest rooms.
The bespoke lighting that fills the restaurant is designed to draw from the simplicity of other mid-century modern lighting options. The bespoke lighting has been developed to make the most of the natural light spilling in from the floor to ceiling windows. Lightweight mesh gives a presence without being too overbearing. Touches of hand-finished brass bring an elevated sense of quality to the bespoke lighting scheme in the public areas. Collections of bespoke brass ring chandeliers hang in the entrance lobby, immediately alluring to the quality guests can expect during their stay.
We also matched all the finishes on the bespoke hospitality lighting, throughout the bedrooms and public spaces, to ensure the design would have continuity through all areas.
