For this award-winning, purpose-built student accommodation, we supplied more than ten unique designs to elevate the various areas, combining functionality with creative artistry to illuminate and inspire.

Designers Nelson and Long are big fans of bringing spaces to life through colour, texture and pattern; “We love using colour in unexpected ways. Colour has the power to transform spaces, spark emotion, and shape an atmosphere.”  So naturally, part of their brief was to incorporate colour, patterns and texture, which played a central role throughout the design concept, into the lighting.

In the reception area, the burnt orange ceiling is further emphasized with our multi-pendant installations. Six pendants in various shapes suspend from a matt black ceiling pan, each covered with a semi-opaque fabric to highlight the frames’ silhouettes within.

Communal areas combine abstract and geometric wooden pendants, finished in chrome and pale greens, burnt orange, and matt black. Further tactility and warmth are introduced with fabric pendants in varying diameters in velour green, cinnamon and floral fabrics, each completed with off-white fringing for a sense of tactility.

Adjustable wall lights in matt black offer functional lighting above the kitchen and corridors, while our bi-directional Scala wall lights bring a touch of luxury, emphasizing the deco-inspired wall panels.
