We are delighted to announce that Northern Lights was the regional winner in the Achievement in International Business category of the Chamber Awards 2014. We will go on to represent the East Midlands in the national finals which will be held in the Pavilion at the Tower of London on the 27th November.
Organised by the British Chambers of Commerce, the Chamber Awards is one of the most hotly contested and prestigious business awards in the UK. This year the awards attracted hundreds of entrants across nine categories. The Achievement in International Business category recognises the strength of British exporters. To become a regional winner, we have been through a rigorous judging process. We had to demonstrate a strong performance in export as well as future growth potential in international markets. We had to prove our commitment to invest in branding, staff and our manufacturing facilities as well as a high level of innovation which allows us to adapt our products and services to different markets.
From luxury hotels, casual restaurants to public buildings, we have delivered inspiring and practical lighting solutions to more than 30 countries across five continents, showcasing the unique characteristics of British design and craftsmanship. Some recent export projects include the Waldorf Astoria Dubai, Grand Hyatt Dubai, H Hotel Dubai, Dunas Beach Resort & Hotel Cape Verdi, Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel, Izel, Conrad Dubai, Taste of Italy Beirut, Safir Hotel, Oman, PizzaExpress Kuwait, Chico & Rita Restaurant, Columbia, Jamie's Italian in Australia and Sweden.
Accepting the award from the President of the East Midlands Chamber, Liz Fothergill, Frances Conlon, Director said: 'We are delighted to be awarded winner in the category of Achievement in International Business. I want to thank all of our customers who have made this award possible and I would like to congratulate all of our employees – talented, dedicated and committed are words that do not do justice to their enormous efforts.
