AHEAD has unveiled the winners of AHEAD Global 2022.

The winners from AHEAD's four regional awards programmes - Americas, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe - went head-to-head as part of AHEAD Global to establish an ultimate winner in each category. After receiving over 630 global entries spanning 60 countries, AHEAD's judging panel of leading hoteliers, architects, interior designers and industry commentators narrowed down their winners in 18 categories.  

The team at Northern Lights were thrilled to realise that one of our most popular projects, Venice-Simplon-Orient Express, took the global prize in the transport category. When Wimberly Interiors approached Northern Lights to create the bespoke luxury lighting for this iconic project, we were honoured to become a small part of this train's great history.  

The train's three new suites, designed by Wimberly Interiors in collaboration with Belmond, are characterised by dark wood furnishings with custom marquetry and richly-coloured fabrics in hues of gold and emerald. "Each room is a jewel box of detail", commented one judge, with another praising the design for its "exquisite, regal perfection."
