Trevillion Interiors Ltd
Working together with Trevillion Interiors, Northern Lights designed and manufactured feature lighting for the reception and conference areas and also supplied a range of bedroom fittings.
The design brief was to develop a large-scale light fitting that would reflect Brooklands' unique heritage and which would bring warmth to the reception area with its very high ceiling. To this end Northern Lights developed a three-tier pendant. 6m high the pendant consists of three rings that resemble car wheels. The gentle light wash, vibrant colours and iconic structural shapes create a dynamic installation which greets the guests upon arrival.
The glass ball ceiling lights in the conference room were inspired by the Christmas balloons in Regent Street. The interior designer had the idea to develop organic lighting structures that simulate floating balloons. Northern Lights turned the concept into reality. Glass balls of different sizes were placed at different levels to generate the organic shape and to allow the light source to be concealed. The fittings inject a feeling of celebration as well as complementing the rich Art Deco interior of the hotel.
The luminaires were wired with a complex series of circuits with random sectional dimming, making possible a variety of lighting effects. Northern Lights also supplied the floor lamps and the bedside table lamps in the Executive Lounge.
