Spread across two storeys, the 100-cover restaurant also features a standalone bar and a private dining room seating 18.

The elegant and timeless interiors reflect classical Venetian architecture, and the work of some of the city's most influential residents – such as Carlo Scarpa – is referenced throughout the scheme. Using plenty of varnished wood and a light and fresh palette, design details applied by our long-term interior collaborators, Fettle, evoke the water taxis and luxury yachts synonymous with the region.

Northern Lights has shared a longstanding partnership with Fettle that has seen collaborations on projects including Tavolino, Isola by San Carlo, Moncks of Dover Street and more. Their experience designing interior schemes for Italian-inspired brasseries has allowed the designers at Northern Lights to explore beautiful Art Deco influences that have helped shape the current crop of lighting designs that now feature in those restaurants and bars.

The restaurant is decorated almost entirely with sumptuous walnut cladding along the walls that have been complemented perfectly by deep marble pillars and bar tops, petrol blue leather seating with brass studs, various shades of tanned leather seating and beautifully textured off-white paint along the top edges of the walls. The aged-effect floor tiles evoke the sense of stepping foot into an authentic Italian brasserie and cooling off from the intense heat outside. The lighting designed for this project was conceptualised with the essence of Italy in mind, with gorgeous classical Art Deco pendants and ribbed glass bulkheads being a prominent feature throughout.

Our uniquely-shaped brushed brass and white alabaster wall lamps illuminate the restaurant's walls. The steeped shades take on the effect of steps which creates an eye-catching shape not seen very commonly in contemporary lighting designs. The veining in the alabaster is magnified by LED filament bulbs encased within the fixture, which is bracketed by laser-cut brushed brass.

Our six-arm brushed brass pendants along the ceilings bring a warming glow to the areas beneath them. The lamp holders have been soldered in a way that mimics the form of a candlestick, which in turn creates the shape of a classical candle-lit chandelier. Each lamp is diffused by our delicately handcrafted pleated ivory silk shades.

Along the stunning marble bar, our fixed brushed brass and moss green table lamps bring a personal aura to the surface, highlighting the rich natural patterns of the stone. The laser-cut details complement their surroundings perfectly, and the fitting is completed with a crown-shaped shade that has been fitted with oyster glazed linen fabric. Several flush globe bulkhead lights sit flush to the ceiling above the bar. Each lamp benefits from an intricately-casted floral pattern that has been hand-soldered to a spun brass pan, holding a reeded glass globe that contains a warm LED bulb.
