You can't miss them now – hanging above bars or around the dining tables. Cage lamps – used mainly in warehouses and factories last century – are now a staple of hospitality lighting. They can be seen in just about every kind of venue from the smartest restaurants with Michelin ambitions to the community pub next door.
It is not difficult to see why. Cage lamps are inherently vintage yet their clean lines give a modern minimalist edge. Using an antique finish for an aged look or painted in bright colours to bring them up-to-date, they can complement many design styles from industrial and rustic to contemporary and quirky. Paired with decorative filament lamps (another come back kid by the way), the fittings almost create a sense of time travel and all the drama that involves. Here are some recent projects featuring Northern Lights cage lamps.

Not surprisingly and inspired by these fantastic projects, we have added a cage lamp range to our ceiling lights collection. The range features a traditional oval shape cage and more contemporary geometric designs. As with many other Northern Lights products, a wide range of finish and flex options are available.
