This was the sixth year we have exhibited at the Sleep Event, held at the Business Design Centre Islington on 24th and 25th November.
Responding to the rise of ‘destination hotels’ and the increasing demand from interior designers to create personalised spaces that provide a unique and authentic experience, the centre of our presentation is a group of eye-catching ceiling features including a stunning geometrically designed cube pendant and two fabulous leaf chandeliers. These statement pieces were complemented by a range of wall lights, table and floor lamps specifically designed for the hospitality market, showcasing an extensive range of finishes and materials ranging from contemporary brushed stainless steel to more retro style polished copper.
The Cube features acrylic cubes in various sizes, each being hand finished in sand infused textured paint. Illuminated by a fibre optic unit, the glass sphere in each cube contains fine strands of glass. The light bounces off the cube surface, adding a gentle and delicate touch to the contemporary design.
As with many other Northern Lights products the quantity, finish and arrangement of the cubes can be modified to suit your requirements.
The leaf chandelier features a mixture of polished and brushed stainless steel, clear and tinted acrylic shapes suspended by thin wires, giving an organic and free-flow feel. Each shape was precision cut with a laser to achieve the abstract geometric forms.
Other patterns and finishes are also available.
The chandelier is a smaller version of the lighting sculptures we have developed for Meadowhall Shopping Centre, which was shortlisted for the Best Decorative Lighting Installation in the darc Awards. Take a look at the project here.
The lovely table in our box room was supplied by Decca Furniture. Take a look at their fantastic range HERE
We have also showcased several new hospitality ranges featuring coordinated wall lights, table and floor lamps.
Talking about the show, Michael Jackson, Head of Design said: ‘Having the facility to provide a creative and personalised lighting solution is key to ensuring a successful project outcome for our clients. Here at Northern lights we pride ourselves in offering this unique service. Our selection for the Sleep Show this year was intended to demonstrate our manufacturing skills and the diversity of materials, colours and finishes which we can offer. The products we have presented illustrate an eclectic mixture of bespoke feature lighting installations and conventional lighting products which have been specifically developed for the hospitality market.’
It was wonderful to meet so many friends during the show. We are delighted our stand was well received by both interior designers and hospitality operators. If you need more information or are interested in any of the fittings we presented, please don’t be hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help.
Our stand was selected by Diana Araya from Foster and Partners as one of her favourite stands at the show. Take a look at her selection Here.
